Brexit update
From January 1st, 2021 the EU and UK will trade in accordance with the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA), reached between the EU and UK on December 24th, 2020.
In accordance with the TCA goods can be imported and exported to and from the EU with zero tariffs only if the goods originate in either the EU or UK. It is important to provide confirmation of the origin of goods otherwise duties will be charged.
We have now completed several tariff and duty-free shipments to customers in the EU in 2021 without issue and expect this to be the case going forward.
Should you have any questions or issues please let us know and we will do our best to help.
Brexit update
From 1st February 2020, the UK will no longer be a member state of the European Union.
However, a transition period will begin on the 1st February and will extend until 31st December 2020, whilst the UK and the EU continue to negotiate a Withdrawal Agreement.
During the transition period, the UK will be considered an EU country for the purposes of customs clearance and the free movement of goods between the EU and the UK.
We would like to reassure you that there will be no customs duties or additional trade restrictions for goods you have purchased from Speltech during the transition period.
When there is any further information regarding trade after 31 December 2020, we will of course let you know without delay.
